The Ariane is a bodysuit pattern from Seamwork Magazine, if you’re yet to discover Seamwork magazine let me tell you all about this amazing concept…
Seamwork is an online pattern magazine by Collette Patterns that allows you to pick two beautiful patterns every month for just $6 (approx. £4.50), along with articles, techniques, and creative ideas. On signing up you can choose two patterns immediately from their existing catalogue of 62 patterns and then choose two more every month. They release two new patterns each month to coincide with the magazine release.
Alternatively, they allow you to save up the credits and use them to purchase from the Collette range of the patterns.
They’re fantastic because –
• They’re all quick sew projects
• Clear instructions with extra tips and help online
• The items in their catalogue are designed to all work together
• Each pattern comes in sizes 0-26
• Each month you can either choose from the newly launched patterns or the back catalogue
• Digital PDF downloads, also in A0 format for copy shop printing
• You can cancel your subscription at any time!
You can still read the monthly magazine without becoming a member, if you do want to join simply visit www.seamwork.com/membership *This is in no way a sponsored post, I just wanted to shout about it to all sewers!
The Ariane is a bodysuit that includes crotch snaps and a fully lined bra cup; you can add support by inserting underwire or elastic into the seam allowances – I chose the non underwired option with Poppers. There is also a great hack online to elongate the body and make a fitted slip.
I used this gorgeous light drapey jersey in an abstract animal print and fold over elastic, both eBay purchases. For my next make I would definitely go for a medium weight jersey to help it hold the structure and give better support. The slip version is next on my list!
